The Suffolk Coast is ideal for those who enjoy exploring by bike or on foot. There is an extensive local network of cycle paths and walkways which link up with the Harwich-Hull cycle route for which Bawdsey Manor is ideally placed as a stop over. A passenger and cycle ferry links Felixstowe Ferry on the opposite side of the Deben to Bawdsey Manor.
We are also perfectly located for the Suffolk Heritage Coast Path with lovely walks to Orford and Snape as well as forest walking in Tunstall and Rendlesham forests. Bawdsey Manor is a perfect base for bird watchers to explore in the heathland and reed beds of the Deben estuary on foot or by boat.
Bawdsey Quay Watersports Center is accredited
by the RYA for the teaching of Sailing and Powerboating. Here you can
learn to sail by following and RYA Award Scheme or simply sail the River
Deben. There are a number of fine golf courses in the area including Felixstowe
Ferry, Woodbridge, and Aldeburgh. The Equestrian Center at Poplar Park
is 10 minutes away and offer the most extensive network of hacks in England.
